Fans were left stunned after a pre-game stunt went horribly wrong before a football match in Europe.
A group of skydivers were tasked with delivering the match ball ahead of Go Ahead Eagles’ opening match of the season against Willem II in the Netherlands.

But one got his landing completely wrong and instead of touching down in the centre circle he veered considerably off course.
His momentum carried him off the pitch and smashing into the advertising hoardings.

The skydiver appeared to hit the sign hard but he was able to immediately get up to his feet.
He then raised his arms towards the crowd and appeared unhurt, with many fans cheering in response.
Only moments earlier there were groans from a stunned crowd as they watched the man miss his mark.
Footage of the incident has since gone viral on social media with many more viewers left stunned.

“That looked painful,” wrote X user @DylanSteman.
“He no sold that like a champ but you know he was feeling that!” said Ryan Evans on X.
“He won’t be able to sit down for a month,” added Rhys Knott.
“Dutch football tomfoolery of the finest traditions,” commented Andrew Scullion.
The commentator saw the funny side of the incident, saying: “The first injury of the season is a fact, not of a player, but a parachutist.”
